On April 6th, 2011, a Wednesday, I opened Escrevinhando with the post VOLTEI A ESCREVER. Then, on April 5th, 2016, a Tuesday, I celebrated CINCO ANOS ESCREVINHANDO. Now, April 6th, 2021, again a Tuesday, CONTINUO ESCREVINHANDO: UMA DÉCADA DEPOIS.
— Even I'm impressed!
In the past few months I have come to plan to do something to celebrate the 10 years I have been on the Internet, but the pandemic and other circumstances have not given me the opportunity now to carry out such celebrations. Thus, some ideas I have simply discarded and others I am leaving in stand-by (at some other time it will be possible to realize them).
However, the question of this occasional text of the Escrevinhando decade is now presented. If I can't get people together in person (I wanted a gathering to celebrate); I should at least bookmark the record here in a virtual way.
— Ten years is a long time !!!
— And even more between bits, virtual worlds and social media!!!
So, let me just point out a few things today:
First. I have now returned to both the initial and the five-year-old texts. In fact, I don't have much to add about the task of working with the text, besides what is already there. And I am happy to see that even though they have grown and matured in several aspects, I managed to be faithful and consistent with the original proposal.
Second. I had read the preface to the book Grace Notes, by Philip Yancey, where he discusses the exercise of being a writer. I even thought about taking those paragraphs as a basis to talk about my writing experience. But the truth is that now I find this comparison very petulant. So I decided to leave Yancey with his craft as a writer while I continue to be a scribbler.
Third. Escrevinhando continues to be an amateur job – a term purposely used in two senses. I love the task of weaving the words in the plot of the text. And here, I do it not as a professional duty.
Also, Taking advantage of the advertisiment. PARÁBOLA DAS COISAS is the first collection of texts by Escrevinhando and is already available as a book (sales directly on the internet – link). And there are other titles already triggered to be released soon.
So I close this decade of Escrevinhando with the apostolic words:
"For everything starts with him, proceeds according to him and is destined for him, then all the glory be to him forever. Amen"
